new schoolhouse

The engineer civil action project at Salcedo, Ilocos Sur province, the Philippines Feb. 17, 2010, taking place as part of Balikatan 2010, will provide the local community with a new schoolhouse. Balikatan 2010 is an annual bilateral training exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the US military that includes humanitarian assistance program. The exercise helps prepare AFP and US forces to work jointly on relief efforts during future natural disasters such as the typhoons that devastated parts of the Philippines in 2009.
